When you publish articles a few times a week like we do at A2L's Litigation Consulting Report Blog, you notice some interesting trends. For example, we see that general topics like voir dire, PowerPoint and storytelling get very high readership numbers. Narrow topics likeMarkman hearings, venue-focused articles and mock bench trials get the fewest reads. That's not too surprising, right?
While the relationship between subject matter and readership makes sense, there are other factors that drive (or hamper) visits that do not as clearly correlate with a reader's interest. For example, list-oriented articles that start with a number get three times the average number of readers, articles published on Mondays will receive at least twice the average number of readers, a tweet by a legal industry celebrity can dramatically boost traffic and holidays just throw everything into chaos.
For these and other reasons like the weather and bad titles, I think some amazing articles get overlooked each year. So, about once a year, I try to highlight articles that you probably missed. Each of these articles had fewer than 500 visits, and our popular articles are normally read by thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, of people.
Below are nine articles that I am betting that you missed out of nearly 150 articles published over the past year. Please do feel free to tweet and share on LinkedIn as so many of you do.
